What is neurodiversity Affirming Support?

Neurodiversity Affirming support is built on the underlying philosophy that all communication and interaction styles are valid, education is required to support the world around a child in order to accommodate their individual strengths and differences, and children do well when they are provided with unconditional access to required supports.

There is an acknowledgement that different styles of communication, interaction, and learning are not disorders, they result from differences in neurotype.

Child led therapy focuses on incorporating a child’s individual motivations and preferences into interactions, playing their way and developing modes of authentic, spontaneous communication.
